Now don’t be fooled with the title because this car packs a ton of form and function. This 12 year old E36 bimmer is the complete package of an old school M3 and it’s been forever since we’ve featured one on CIB. From it’s well maintained Estoril Blue stock paint to it’s heavily modified track inspired performance. How often do you see an M3 with a Yakima rack and still looks functional with a high wing spoiler?

What’s shocking to us is that the owner previously owned an E90 with 400 hp to the wheels to brag. Now why the downgrade you say? Well this is what the owner had to say which I couldn’t agree more…

“I use to have 335i and made 400whp but the car couldn’t pull off the stanced look and also in terms of fun and stability at the track, the 335i comes nothing close to the E36 M3″

Interior:

UUC Rk5 shift knob – Bride Zeta 3 seats on VAC Motorsport Floor mounts / G-Force 6pt Harness / Autopower 4pt half cage

“Car is raised for track days and lowered for DD. The E36 M3 is perfect for having fun at the track since the car is well-balanced (50:50), still very competitive even with the lack of horsepower and also being able to pull of the lowered semi-stanced look

Exterior:

MASHAW LTW rear spoiler with risers / Reiger GT front lip

Wheels:

Daily Driven = BBS RC302 17×8.5 et13 (added 15mm spacer on fronts/ added 10mm spacer on rears) on FK452 215/40/17 / Track = CCW Classics 17×9 et39 on NT01 255/40/17 rcomps

Suspension/Brakes:

AST 5100 monotube inverted shocks / H&R 650/800lb springs / AST Rear shock mounts / Vorshlag Camber Plates / H&R 28mm Front Sway / OEM X-Brace / Powerflex rear trailing arm bushings / PFC 01 front & rear brake pads with UUC SS brake lines

Engine:

Complete Stock S52b32 with VAC motorsport baffle pan (weld-in) & PWR 42mm Rad / Spal Thin puller fan / Bimmerworld silicone hoses / Stewart race waterpump / 80C thermostat Vorshlag / Nylon Race Motor Mounts Vorshlag 75mm/90mm wheel stud conversion / UUC System-U (DTM Tips) exhaust / UUC underdrive Pulleys / UUC Red race poly transmission mounts

  1. Very nice, I’m assumingthe ride height is at cm?
    “@ 12.5″ / 11.75″ ride height”

Love the color, and that interior is hot.

  2. i need walpaper size for the “wheels” shot. it just made me shed a tear :’)

  3. Looks more Estoril Blue than Technoviolet.

  4. Killer stance and great shots!

  5. this is hot!!!!

  6. Amazing car, I really appreciate the mods, great choice on the AST’s, but my only complaint is that “old school” doesn’t belong anywhere in this post. Maybe in about 10 years the e36 can be considered “old school” lol

  7. Nice ride, buts its definitely Estoril, not Techno.

  8. Estoril Blue that is.

Other than that the perfect E36 and pretty much what i would do if i had a coupé instead of a touring.

  9. LOOKS CLEAN AND MEAN!

  10. love the car, hate the roof rack. Nice shots though too.

  11. Looks great! Glad to see you guys posting a E36 M3 ;) Thanks for sharing!

  12. 4 shots that’s it? Not very impressed.

    • Don’t complain when you can’t do anything better.

  13. love it, hopefully the car is used to bring skis/snowboards to the mountain or he shouldn’t have the rack.

  18. I love the rack, especially since Yakima says they don’t sell a fit kit for that car….. can i get the rack info you used? I’ve been trying to fit a rack to my car (’96 e36 M3) and the only option people come up with involves a drill!!! no way.
