Big Socal Euro Gathering 2011
Last weekend was the Big Socal Euro Gathering 2011 that was being held in San Diego at the Qualcomm Stadium. It was a 2.5 hour trip for me, but being in a caravan made the trip a little more enjoyable. If I was to sum up the event, the main photo above sums it up pretty well. All Euro makes were in attendance. From timeless classics to modern JDM, a wide variety of cars showed up.
This post will start ironically start off with a timeless JDM classic, a clean GT-R. The organizers of this event, did not discriminate and allowed for everyone to attend. It’s events like these that really show a gathering of true car enthusiasts. People go for the cars without bias.
To the classic JDM lovers, this car is a pants dropper. I had to excuse myself to shoot this GT-R that rolled in a little late. I’m sure many would do anything just to have this car.
Now onto the Euro cars. Paul Authur, another Canibeat photographer also got some amazing photos earlier that morning.
Plenty of Euro makes to choose from. Check out this old school VW! I didn’t even know they still existed, let alone in mint condition.
Amazing paint job. Be sure to check out the gallery to see how well this paint shows when the sun is out.
Every time I see this car, the wheels stand out more and more.
HRE wheels came out big at the show. They had an army of Euro cars to show off.
The BMW on bags with a lot of carbon fiber. Not a bad look.
There was also a driving clinic and course.
