Since starting Canibeat with my best friend almost two years ago, the most enjoyable part about doing this all is traveling across the globe, getting to meet new people and experiencing different car scenes. Back in February we had the opportunity to fly over to the west coast for Wekfest San Francisco and it highly exceeded all of our expectations. When we found out that our friends over at Weksos were collaborating with Fatlace to bring Wekfest out to the east coast, we were stoked! At first we had our fingers crossed for a show in the northeast but unfortunately things didn’t work out that way. The closest location to us on the tour was in the city of Chicago. What made this show special was that all of us had never been to Chicago before and our friend Dan Horst was premiering his Ep3 after a highly anticipated two year build. With quality builds all over the place, a kick ass city with good food and entertainment to enjoy at night and getting to hang out with old and new friends.. we couldn’t have asked for a better weekend.
We had to be at McCormic Place really early to setup our booth (7:30!) and there were already cars lined up to get in when we arrived.
Loved this thing! More photos deeper into the coverage.
Rocket Bunny! Touge Factory came out hard in their hometown!
The view of Chicago from the entrance way.
Ah there you go again… one of the most dope fitted RX-7′s I’ve ever seen.
Dan’s car about to get unloaded into our booth space.
Cars were starting to roll in.
This Subaru was just hanging out bumperless off to the side while the very few cars who were already in were getting ready.
Side profile shot! I really liked the way this photo came out.
Angela’s S2000 which was featured on our site recently.
Sitting proper! More to come of this sick MR2 soon!
Dan was rocking this custom sticker on his Ep3. Love it!
Both JunkHouse and Risky Devil came out hard at this event. Big ups!
Don’t think it gets any better then this…
AJ Gillett premiered his E30 at the show and man was it looking good! He took home second place for Best Euro. Very well deserved!
