One Love: One Serious 1-Series Hatch From China

It’s always a huge plus when we feature cars that are not typically modified in the scene, but it makes it even more special when it’s from a different parts of the world. It’s one of those cars like the recently re-released VW Scirocco that we in the states can only see and admire online but not enjoy it in person everyday. Since we are an international car blog we are fortunate enough to to feature Tony Lin’s unique BMW 120i hatch straight from the south of China.

One of the very first things that jumped out at us when Tony first sent us his quality photos was the negative camber of his 120i. That camber has been calculated to perfection in order to fit his stunning 19″ Work wheels. We like to think that this is one of the best stanced 1-series we’ve seen to date.

Thanks to his KW coilovers, Tony was able to adjust to the most visually appealing height.

For those familiar with the 1-Series, the car is extremely limited when it comes to wheel choices due to the offsets being so restricting. The offsets are similar to those of a Honda S2000. Just to give you an idea, the OEM offsets are high 50′s to 60′s and nowhere close to the 20′s which he was able to achieve especially in the rear where the fenders are double folded sheet metal. Tony put in a lot of effort to be able to fit BMW M3 (E90) offsets without ruining his metal fenders. His clean execution of his wheel setup is proof that stanced cars can look clean and classy at the same time, which is good because it is a BMW after all.

In addition to his tasteful styling, Tony kept all his other modifications on his 120i OEM with mainly genuine BMW carbon fiber parts. It’s always refreshing to see what our friends in China are up to. Great work Tony! We cant wait to see what’s next.

Be sure to take a look at the rest of the photos Tony took of his clean 1-Series hatch.
