You’ve mostly seen these roadsters in competitive autocross and drift events. It’s a light weight, front-engine, rear-wheel drive two seater that originally roamed in Japan for almost 22 years and is one of the best affordable roadsters out there. So why is it such a success you say? Because it’s nimbleness can take on any track/course like a champ.

Meet Matthew’s daily driven Eunos Roadster aka Mazda Miata. He wanted a practical car that doesn’t burn a hole in your gas money wallet. But before the Miata, Matthew owned a Mazdaspeed 3 which was unfortunately given up due to a bent connecting rod which was caused by an overboost. I bet the “bent rod” was just an excuse to find one of the best handling convertibles out there.

“I’ve never felt so emotionally attached to a car and it’s an amazing feeling to be so proud and have so many compliments. I’m very appreciative for it’s new life!”

fitment

Though the car is already weighs like a feather, Matthew plans to add a plethora of carbon fiber goodies to make it fly even faster while autocrossing and at drifting events. Maybe a rotary and paint job is also in the future.

Matthew would like to thank the following: Discount Tire for the easy ordering and handling of his wheels, Invision Autohouse for fast and awesome parts ordering, his best friend Chris that has been with through the thick and thin with him working on his car, Tanq Industries for the paint and body work, his parents, and and last but not the least everyone that gave him a helping hand with everything. His car wouldn’t where it is today without all of them!

  1. holy fuh, this is by far the most awesome miata i’ve seen in my life :o
just wondering, how do you guys snap pics like the last one without crashing :P low speeds or just plain old photoshop?

  2. That is one good looking roadster. Sharin’ the roadster love!

  3. I have never seen a Caliber like that one. Please show more!

  4. I know the heart and soul my brother has poured into his car. Countless nights of working in the garage with whoever would lend a hand trying to get every last detail perfect…it may have been aggrevating….but knowing how proud he is of his car – makes it all worth it!

  5. I feelin this car.

  6. Killer looking Miata but I would also like to see a feature on the Caliber

  7. how i saw this miata in i love driving slow 2011 sick stance =D

  8. yes another clean car from florida, great miata the body is sick

  9. No booty shot? Shame on you!

  10. The car is cool.
Yes, that was a “period” after that sentence.

    BUT…………………multiple periods……………….

THAT LAST PICTURE IS JUST PLAIN STUPID. Leave the car some dignity and take that terrible photochop DOWN!

There’s no arguing it either—anyone who sees that stupid picture and says that it’s not stupid probably should hear a helmet and a diaper daily. Before you think that’s politically incorrect, let me explain.
The diaper should go over their mouth because obviously nothing but bullsh#t is coming out of there and the helmet is to protect them from the resultant beatings they’d receive. Additionally, the helmet would allow them to maintain basic motor functions so they wouldn’t become a greater burden to any individual or society than they already are.

Also, the owner’s quote has a typo. I’m sure the author meant to write “its” instead of “it’s”.

    Whoooooopsies!

  11. That last picture is a rig shot. I love this miata and havent seen it since its been painted this color, which is a fail on my part, but I usually see matt everywhere.
