iAcrophobia 421 Meet (Beijing, China)
In recent years, the aggressive fitment/stance scene has infected car enthusiasts all over the word in an overwhelming fashion. We have seen this trend explode in North America, Europe, and Japan, while other regions are catching up rapidly: Austrailia, Thailand, even Korea. However, today we are introducing something completely new to us, the Chinese scene.
The Chinese scene is relatively unfamiliar to us. What we do know is that they have had their own car scene for years and the aggressive fitment/stance trend has been developed tremendously in recent years.
These images are from one of the most recent meets held in Beijing, China. The event is organized by the car culture group iAcrophobia, and we’re pretty sure we will be hearing this name regularly in the near future.
The diversity of the meet was second to none. The majority of the cars were composed of VAG cars with a fine blend of JMD cars and domestics.
Unlike the impression of Chinese made replica parts and cheap knock offs, the meet was full of legit parts and wheels. They don’t just slap authentic parts together; instead, the parts are picked by selection and rarity. This shows different tastes and understanding of their own ideas towards building a car. Love it or hate it, we can certainly pick up something from the current Chinese car scene.
We will be looking forward to more features by iAcrophobia and their meets in the future. Keep your eyes open!
