If you had asked any one of us three years ago what events we thought we would be attending in 2012, we probably would have guessed Import Alliance, Eibach, and Wekfest... and for the most part we would have been right. What I don't think any of us could have ever imagined was traveling to California this summer to co-host our own event! Read More

With its sixth installment this year, Eurowerks kicked off Saturday morning in quite the trending fashion. A dark cloud cover and rain greeted the early risers on Saturday morning, just as it had in previous years. Thankfully, as show time approached, the inclement weather retreated into the distance. Staff was busy making sure everything was in place for over 300 cars that filled the parking lots adjacent to the historical Grain Belt Brewery in downtown Minneapolis, MN. Read More

WekFest East 2012 (Edison, NJ): Official Video
This was the first year Weksos Industries held a show anywhere near the east coast. We were truly lucky to have the venue chosen out here in the Northeast. There were groups from Canada, New England, Chicago, Virginia, Florida and of course NJ, NY, and PA were in full attendance. The quality was phenomenal and overwhelming. Thank you Weksos for having hosting such an amazing event, can't wait till next year! HUGE THANKS again to Aaron and Carl Vaacar from AUTOLIFE TOUR for letting me get up on their trailer!! Epic Weekend of the East was made possible by Tuner Evolution and Weksos having events in the same weekend, with great support from Fresh Meet, Canibeat, JDM Chicago, Tjin Edition Road Show, Autolife Tour.
HRE Wheels has undoubtedly made it's name in the aftermarket industry due to the company's strong demand of quality and refinement. Of course the same demand of quality transitions itself to the cars that choose to run HRE Wheels. HRE recently had another Open House Meet and you can rest assure that plenty of top-notch cars and super cars came to show. Read More
Those of you who have been in the car scene long enough may remember when Hot Import Nights and Nopi first had a very underground and grassroots feel to it. Many will attest to the fact that those days are gone and many car shows have tried to reproduce events of that sort of caliber, but have failed. Even HIN has tried to make a comeback in the past couple of years, but in my opinion, has not been able to recapture that raw essence of a car show. The essence I'm referring to is very simple actually, a car show (for the most part) just for the cars. Although car shows are not underground anymore, there are still quality shows out there. Nisei Showoff Car Show is one of the better quality car shows that still exists and if I were to say that a fledgling Autocon car show is comparable to a Nisei Showoff Car Show, I would quite frankly be lying. However, I can say that Autocon has been able to capture some of that raw essence that has been lost throughout the years with car shows becoming more mainstream. Read More
In 2003, as a promotion for the release of the seventh generation Civic, Honda created a series of commercials celebrating the "Civic Nation". Originally featuring 64 of Southern California's most aggressively styled Civics, this video seemed to be a sign that Honda was finally ready to accept the massive subculture that had sprung from its humble pedestrian model. And while the days of neon, chrome, and loud body kits have since passed us by, that visual of dozens of Civics rolling deep was bold for the time. The release of the original The Fast and the Furious in 2001 had made tuner culture a nationwide phenomenon, but we didn't see a mainstream manufacturer really embrace it until Toyota's creation of the Scion brand in 2002. The Civic Nation commercials, however, connected a new product with the cars that were already on the street. The idea wasn't so much that you had to go purchase the latest Civic to be hip--that is, it didn't show a group of nineties-era hatches driving along only to have a fresh new EP Civic Si blow through the center with flaming tires. Rather, the point made was that if you did purchase a new Civic, you became a part of something much larger and much cooler than a frumpy-looking beige sedan would normally allow. Read More
RWB/RAUH-Welt BEGRIFF is a Porsche tuner located in Japan. RWB has combined Japanese and Euro tuning elements, creating the distinct RWB style for Porsche chassis. Starting off as a small countryside body-shop in Chiba-Ken, RAUH-Welt 911's are are built for both the streets and racing circuits of Japan and now in many other countries. RWB creates only one RWB Porsche for each customer. I got the call from Canibeat to shoot the new RWB USA demo car while at Wuste in Las Vegas and only had an hour to meet up with them and shoot it before they had to return for the weekend! The extreme temperatures there really pushed my camera to the max hitting 120 degrees on the tarmac! I've never been in Vegas either so it was a real challenge to find good spots in a hurry. regardless we hit up a few spots, filmed a little, then let them on their way! Great guys to finally meet and hopefully we see more from them soon!
For those of you who have never been to Canada, the fitment scene is alive and well in Toronto! Fitted Showcase is an annual show hosted by our friends at Stretch & Poke and this year we teamed up with Chris Chu from Backstage Productions to capture the event and all that Canada's aggressive fitment culture has to offer. Stretch & Poke hosted the first aggressive fitment event in Toronto, and most likely Canada back in 2010. Now in their 3rd year of hosting the event both the number and quality of cars has grown. With over 500 cars packing out Downsview Park this year this looks like an event everyone should look forward to for years to come! Read More
In recent years, the aggressive fitment/stance scene has infected car enthusiasts all over the word in an overwhelming fashion. We have seen this trend explode in North America, Europe, and Japan, while other regions are catching up rapidly: Austrailia, Thailand, even Korea. However, today we are introducing something completely new to us, the Chinese scene. Read More
