Over the past couple of years, Wekfest has become one of the most popular car show tours in the country. What some of you don’t know is that the first Wekfest event was held in San Francisco in a parking garage. As the years have gone by and the show has expanded to other parts of the country, the San Francisco event has remained the largest and most anticipated event of the year! This year was bigger and better than ever before with a variety of cars from all parts of the spectrum including, stanced cars, track-ready, domestics, and everything in between. Nothing was left behind, which is why people from all over the world travel to California to attend this event. We had friends from the Midwest, East Coast, Canada, and even Japan fly in. I personally drove 7 hours to be at this show and by the time the show started, I was running on less than 16 hours of sleep in 3 days. Although I was lacking in sleep, my coverage wasn’t. Read More
Saturday morning my father and I made the eleven hour drive down to San Fransisco to meet up with the rest of the Canibeat team. With my Canon 5D ready to roll I wasn’t sure what to expect. WekFest turned out to be an incredible show. I was completely blown away by the thousands of spectators and a never ending supply of beautiful cars to point a camera at. This was one of the coolest shows I’ve been to and would urge any car enthusiast to attend.
I’ve been following Canibeat for some time now, so when the girls told me about this project and asked me to shoot I was all about it. Cherry, Lauren and I had been trying to plan a shoot but with me being in Chicago and them being 3hrs away the logistics didn’t always work out as a lot of my shooting is done last minute. My take on the project was that Canibeat wanted some snaps of these lovely ladies wearing their swag. So I figured I’d find a location and a prop car and we’d rock it out. The morning of the shoot our preferred (indoor) location fell through, but the girls were on their way and my prop car was good to go – I’ll take 2/3 any day.
This week we bring you a shot of Eric Penelow’s Boston Green e36 at First Class Fitment 2011. Just when we thought Eric’s car couldn’t get any better on the OZ Futura’s he switched it up and came out with a rare set of Cromodora splits in 2011. Eric is one of the founders of SoGood, and he is also one of the videographers responsible for this video from First Class Fitment video so check it out if you haven’t already! As the year ends, another season of shows will end with it. To close out 2011, we present our Autocon coverage for you. The event, along with the turn out, was much larger than last year. We were excited to use that opportunity to booth for the first time on the West Coast. Organized as a charity event, the show was a great experience for us, and we enjoyed meeting everyone. We’d like to thank the Royal Origin guys for coming out to show at our booth with their quality cars and hilarious entertainment throughout the day. Four different photographers covered Autocon for us just to make sure we didn’t miss anything. Enjoy, and we hope to see you next year! Read More
