Most people claim that growing up sucks, and the simple fact that nothing can be done about it can be quite frustrating. Albeit the claims are true, but it’s not bad when you keep your passions within the current instead of letting them fade like a trend. Especially when you have a family and a wife that supports your lifestyle and work it’s that much easier to over come any type of growing pain.

“On July 19, 2014, Pier 70 in SF, CA was transformed into the West Coast’s largest car show. With over 500-vehicles and 60-vendors, Evolution has forever changed the face of car show and lifestyles events. Evolution is the only event to award a Championship Belt and cash award for Overall Best of Show and to have an OEM – SCION – provide cash awards for 1st-3rd place owners.
Some call Wekfest the Super Bowl of car shows. Regardless of what you call it, none can argue the fact that the best in the West and beyond show case here, and it truly makes this show one of a kind. Cars travel from all over just to show here at Wekfest San Jose, and some travel even farther just to be in attendance and see the high caliber of cars Wekfest always delivers. Located in beautiful Downtown San Jose the show takes place in the San Jose Convention center. With hotels and restaurants near by this location is extremely convenient for everyone in attendance. With the show being held indoors it made for a fantastic environment. The giant show area came alive with energy, music echoed from every corner of the hall and amazing high quality cars everywhere you turned… Wekfest San Jose truly makes for an awesome show. Canibeat co founders Roy Jang and Cristian Loza traveled to the show from Washington DC to vend the event and had a blast! I hope you enjoy part one of our coverage brought to you by Dj Murdok (photography), James Baxter and Josh Davis (words).
Last weekend we ventured on a journey out to Northern California for Wekfest San Jose. Usually we travel in large groups, but for this trip it was just Roy and myself (both co-founders of Canibeat for those not familiar). What made this adventure different from past trips is we had absolutely no set plans except for, of course, the Super Bowl of cars shows–Wekfest San Jose. In 2012 Canibeat collaborated with our friends from Fatlace to do a show in Southern California called INFAMOUS. Since then I have personally stayed in close contact with Mark Arcenal just to talk about cars, technology, cycling, our businesses and all things cool. When I had told him we were going to be in town for the show we made plans to grab lunch right after we landed at SFO. Mark had mentioned to me they were taking their Illest Shaved Ice Bus (Volkswagen Bus) to the show and their RC Drift Car track was almost done at the shop and invited us to come check it out. I documented our tour of the Paddock with some traveling photos thrown in there… I hope you enjoy it!
Sam Willson is a cool guy, well at least after talking with him for some time on the phone I came to that conclusion. You see, unlike other people I have run into in this scene, he is one of the first to admit he likes his car and likes the attention it gathers. With so many people thinking the cool thing now is to call their car a “bucket” or a “beater” it is refreshing just to have someone say thanks after you give them a compliment.
Way 2 Clean is a new name that made their mark this year at the West Palm Beach Expo Center. The event was organized by its founder, Sam Blackett, with some big name vendors like Vossen and Liberty Walk, and a performance by Florida’s own American rapper, Ace Hood. After advertisements were spread out, many scurried to register for this event. I’m sure many of you reading this are in the Northern states or anywhere else really with less humidity than we have here in Florida. So if there’s an event indoors, we’re all for it! I am definitely excited for the next event hosted by Way 2 Clean.
After recently moving from the East Coast to the West I could not resist making it up to Seattle for FD Round Five. Following some haggling and acquiring my first FD media pass, I was incredibly stoked for this particular weekend in Washington.
SpringFling 2014 was another massive success! With over 400 cars in attendance at the Hansa Haus in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, SpringFling — now in its 11th year — has grown to become the VAG and German car scene’s official season opener in Canada. This charity-driven event is best known for its relaxed vibe and has become so well known that attendees now drive in from out of Province and the U.S. to spend the day with fellow enthusiasts! Emotion: the aspect of consciousness that’s affected by what one constantly endures—feelings. Emotion is an amazing aspect of our conscience, and it has a lot of influence on what we do while trekking through our lives. For Matt Ayvazian passion fueled determination, determination influenced execution, and the end result panned out to be one constant emotional state: satisfaction.
