None of my friends had ever been to VAG Fair before so this year we decided we should see what all the hype was about. I have to say Corey Sterling has organized an impressive gathering. VAG Fair, which takes place at the Fairgrounds of York Pa, is a relaxing weekend of camp fires, ice cold beer and European cars. Unique to most shows, camping at the show grounds is welcomed and it turned out to be a blast. Of course for those more inclined to sleep in a real bed, the Best Western and Holiday Inn are only a mile from the show and they provide nightlife for the weekend by hosting huge meets. There’s no doubt we’ll be heading back next year. Enjoy!
Summer will always have its staples: defining characteristics. For most people it’s cookouts, lake trips, the sound of cicadas, the smell of the grill, and the sound of laughs around a campfire with friends. It’s a magical time of year filled with good times had in the great outdoors.
For those with an affinity for the automotive, however, summer is defined by the sounds of exhaust notes, road trips and cruises to meets or shows, chilling in parking lots with friends, and late nights in garages arguing function versus form while shaving bays with your buddies. It’s the best few months of the year for every car enthusiast and the community they call home.

2013 marked the 5th year anniversary for Wekfest, “the Superbowl” of car shows. The past two years we’ve attended as a brand Fort Mason in San Francisco was the official venue. After out growing Fort Mason this year marked the first year at the San Jose Convention Center (which is bigger by 40,000 square feet)! The new venue did not have the same feeling as being in San Francisco, but it was definitely a huge upgrade in size to accommodate the stampede of spectators that Wekfest is notorious for enduring.
Marking its third season this past June 29, 2013, Eurokracy Montréal is the go-to European automotive event in Canada. Eurokracy Montréal is a day-long showcase of the baddest rides in North America focusing on quality. Competitions like a full NHRA ¼ mile drag, burnout, show & shine and a world’s first low-car competition titled “The Neckbreaker” presented by AccuAir Suspension had the thousands of spectators pumped from morning until night.
Three of us stood in a bare parking lot at 8am, staring at a matte white Audi S4. An S4 that would need to carry us and a long list of belongings all the way out to Englishtown, New Jersey for the legendary European automotive show; Waterfest.
For the 3rd year StanceWars has brought together slammed, flush and fitted cars together from the Pacific Northwest . The top 100 cars showcased on the rooftop of this VIP style event provides enthusiasts with a first hand experience to witness the finest cars in the area. Whether your into JDM, Euro, Static or Air everyone seemed to find a car they could connect with. This show is growing every year, so if you wanna make that top 100 you better spin those coils down and polish those fenders. We at Canibeat had I great time covering the event, enjoy the video!
The pleasure was all mine when I visited Union, New Jersey, and in particular the Kean University Campus. Coincidentally Kean University was also the home of this year’s Fresh MEET Summer Bash. Fresh Meet events are held to provide a safe and secure area designated for enthusiasts of all ages and communities to attend, where they can display their vehicle and share a common interest. But more importantly they’re held to provide the new generation a direction that can provide inspiration and the willingness to build some awesome vehicles. After a long trek from Canada I arrived to the venue the night prior. I stopped to go over some setup information with Rey Pegan before making my way to my hotel to rest up.
The East Coast Honda meet is an annual gathering of people who proudly represent vehicles notoriously badged with that famous “H.” These enthusiasts come together from up and down the east coast and some even make the trip across the country. Flocking together in convoys, many groups arrived to Richmond International Raceway rocking new wheel setups, new paint, bigger turbos, and even some crazier tucked engine bays. The meet brought everyone who loved Hondas together to enjoy the showcase of all sorts of builds. Regardless of the intense heat mother nature had brought upon the two day event, the gathering was a success. Enjoy the video coverage of the 2013 East Coast Honda Meet.
This was the 3rd year that Stancewars held their show at Bellevue Community College’s parking structure. The parking structure has an amazing view of the Seattle Skyline and with perfect weather one couldn’t ask for a better show. This was my first time attending the show and I was thoroughly impressed with the selection of cars that were in attendance. The top floor consisted of some of the vendors and the Top 100, which were cars that were carefully selected by the staff and the best of what the Pacific Northwest has to offer! The lower levels consisted of general entry cars and there were a huge variety of cars from people all around the PNW. This is not a show to be missed, make sure and check it out next year and enjoy our coverage!
The second annual European automotive show, Eurohangar, was once again a hit. Hosted during the last weekend in June in Holland, Michigan, the show’s location was beautiful. We started out at the pre-meet on Friday night then ended at the show on Saturday. If you missed out this year, be sure to look into going next year!
