Having owned three Volkswagens it’s to no surprise that this will be my favorite write up to date since joining the Canibeat team. There comes a point in every car enthusiast’s life when they have to make the decision on which route they will take in purchasing a car and building it. Some go JDM, some go Euro, some go VIP, some choose a little bit of everything in between. The Volkswagen scene consists of die hard fans that love nothing more than putting their best work out there and making a name for themselves with hours of blood, sweat, and tears in the garage and behind the wrench. The options appear to be endless when constructing a vehicle from square one, but standing out is a task all on its own and if you don’t go above and beyond the call of duty you will be overlooked.
This week, Johnny Bazooka brings us Paul Tran’s 1999 Lexus GS300 of Liberty VIP.

Wilson Tam over at Stance Lab has been a car enthusiast for years. Much like the rest of us whose passion for cars and building them stems from the very core of our being. That being said, its to no surprise that both of his Mercedes’ sit the way that they do now after being acquired; looking like luxury sedans with the purpose of getting the average businessman to his next meeting. If you aren’t familiar with Stance Lab they are a growing suspension based tuning group that focuses mainly on the handling aspect of Mercedes Benz vehicles. After pulling a couple of strings Wilson was hooked up with a 2010 E350 sedan along with a 2012 C350. The clock was ticking for the guys at Stance Lab to get both of these cars looking the part and representing what they were all about.
This week, Sam Ip Media brings you Ming’s awesome VIP style Infiniti M45.
When it comes down to it, we all have an unrelenting passion for the automotive scene. Whether it be old American muscle, mid-90’s tuners, or the retro JDM cars that have become so desirable; cars are our passion. Coming from different backgrounds, we all seem to share a similar story. We dip our toes, and suddenly become immersed; spending countless hours of something we always complain about not having enough of. We meet locals at car gatherings, and soon enough, we find ourselves rolling amongst a pack of cars to the most anticipated car show of the season. For Dan and his Polo GTI, the story began with a local group of mates, and what is now know as Establishment | Three.Six.Five.

H2Oi is so much more than a car show and over the years, it has developed more and more facets and dimensions to where it’s hardly even a show anymore; it’s THE social event of the year.
Trends are both made and broken in Ocean City. Like a runway at a Paris Fashion Show, Coastal Highway becomes the stage where the latest and greatest trends and ideas are put on display. As the week progresses, one of your favorite looks or wheels can become one of your least favorite after seeing so many of the same sets of wheels or themes cruising up and down the strip. At the same time, you can develop a love for a look or theme that you never thought of before or didn’t think you’d like until it’s on display in front of you.
From “played” to “revolutionary”, The Strip is a magical place where heroes and villains are made or broken and where trends, wheels, and ideas go to rise in popularity or find their final resting place. This is true for any and all makes and models as you see the Euro and JDM scenes swapping ideas and perfecting them on similar chassis with different badges. It’s not out of the ordinary to see the same set of wheels ten times in one day with ten different finishes.
If there’s one thing H2Oi teaches you, it’s this: keep an open mind, open eyes, and current license, insurance and registration…
I know I’m not alone in saying that things can spiral out of control when getting the “mod bug”. For a lot of us car enthusiasts, wheels and suspension are a given. For others, go-fast bits are more important. For the rest, an almost religious attention to cleanliness is of utmost importance. For Josh Esfahani, a car isn’t complete until it contains all these aspects. This car is low, this car is fast, and this car is clean. This, is Josh’s 2002 B6 Audi A4.

I know I’m not alone when I share the belief that cars have brought strangers together and turned them into the best of friends. There’s just something about sharing a passion and lifestyle with people that truly understand. As a community, we dive into this lifestyle and we build so much anticipation to get even more of it. H2Oi is a beautiful, chaotic hub of immersion and anxious anticipation. Created around the Volkswagen/Audi scene and now attracting even more enthusiasts, H2Oi sweeps into Ocean City every year almost overnight and provides us a world of automotive expression. The whole experience at H2Oi is unreal as slammed cars drive by in every direction, every second. The community takes over the city’s streets and we come together in parking lots, hotels, condos, beaches, and restuarants. It’s exciting to be a part of this immersion. Along with the insanity and constant burnouts, we also get a chance to cruise, relax, and enjoy the getaway. The time spent at H2Oi feels so good because we really look forward to it every year. We utilize social media to hype it up and we see everyone on Instagram talking about it. H2Oi is such a popular event because the craziness runs wild in the streets, but the passion and friendship can be felt everywhere. The timeless memories can never be forgotten, and I’m honored I can capture such a unique staple in the automotive world with this video.
