Driver Found: Josh Joyce’s Volkswagen MK1 Rabbit

Josh_Joyce_Rabbit_Cover

The Volkswagen scene commands a lot of attention, and I am not saying that simply because I am a VW owner, driver, fan, and euro fanatic. The Volkswagen driver is someone who emits love for their car, no matter if it’s their first or fifty first. Josh Joyce ran across this little MK1 Rabbit as a good deal and had thoughts to use the little diesel as a daily driver. After owning a good amount of vehicles already and always having a soft spot for the diesel Rabbits the answer was quickly given, and the little green machine was in the hands of Joyce and on the way home. #PictureMeRollin: Luke’s Volkswagen Polo

IMG_8115

Another week has gone by and we're just as ready for the weekend as you guys. This week's #PMR submission comes from overseas; England to be exact. I came across Paul Cooks work through my constant photo digging and spotted this Volkswagen Polo. Yet another neat little hatch that Volkswagen never let the United States have. This one here, owned by Luke Ross looks great! Thanks for the awesome pictures Paul! Read More

Random Beat: Ain’t Nobody Fucking With My Clique

HouseofStance_RandomBeat

It's hard to imagine a life without the internet. Just about every hot new build in the car scene can be discovered with it, new cars are popping up everyday that no one has ever seen before and because of web, it is possible for you and I to see, and share these builds with the world. We sometimes take the internet for granted, but without it so many magnificent builds would go unheard of and everyone would have to go to an event to see them (and we all know not all cars make it out to those). Water by the Bridge 2013 (Louisville, KY): Part 1

IMG_1149_cover

Every year, there’s a mad scramble to get your car done before the first show of the year. Sure, you had MONTHS to prepare but it always seems like the week before the show, you are scrambling around, calling parts stores, turning wrenches for hours, freaking out over tracking numbers and generally stressing out about getting your car finalized. All winter you’ve been stockpiling parts for forced induction, calculating offsets, scouring the forums, getting things painted and dreaming of the reveal for the world to see. Whether your plans are secret or you’ve had everyone AND their mom over to help you, nothing compares to rolling that car out of the garage completed and giving it one final wash before you put your hard work (and blown paychecks) on display. iAcrophobia & GT Drift Present: “We Are Back” Car Show (Beijing, China): 3/16/13

iAcrophobia_WeAreBack_COVER

During my time in China, I have seen cars ranging from ridiculous to ABSOLUTELY absurd... and not in a good way. I was relieved when one day as I was walking on my school campus and a Mini Clubman S passed me… I noticed it was not at stock height and definitely was not on stock wheels. So then it all began; I chased the car down needing to talk to the owner. He must have thought I was a little crazy, being out of breath, using my broken Chinese I said, “我喜欢你的车!” (I like your car!). He told me he spoke a little English but it was so rare that a foreigner was into cars - especially a girl. We then spoke about his car, which is on air and Rotiform NUEs, I expressed to him how I had not seen many nice cars around China, much less Beijing. He was shocked and told me there are quite a lot of car enthusiasts in Beijing. Read More

Risk and Reward: Joe’s ’05 WRX Wagon

wrx_cover

Most often in the modified car scene, we start to see trends, and things like wheels and such quickly become “played out” and unoriginal. In other cases, we get thrown off our rockers when someone actually steps out of the box and expresses their taste without care of what people might think. Joe’s WRX wagon fits this bill to a T! Upon quick inspection, it is not hard to tell that this car has received a lot of attention, and most importantly, Joe built it for himself and nobody else. Read More

True To Its Roots: Calvin Wan’s D1 Inspired RX7

Cover_Photo_FD

For anyone that has followed American professional drifting, the evolution from its roots in Japanese imported D1 demos to the spectacle of a modern Formula Drift competition is somewhat bittersweet. While the combination of low weight and big V8 power of today's cars is undeniably entertaining to watch, there exists a disconnect between the competition cars of today with their more pedestrian relatives filling up the nearby parking lots. And although this disparity is nowhere close to the near-anonymity of NASCAR's "stock cars", their relativity for grassroots drifters and fans is diminishing. But with the stands full, is there any reason to try and hold these cars back? Is there value in preserving OEM integrity? Read More
