In the fall of 2011 Kristin Andrus was in the process of parting out her Genesis coupe when she bought this Z4 of the same body style. Everyone remembers the iconic clownshoe car predecessor being the Z3 ///M and the successor is equally mean when unleashed. She got it for a killer deal, but a few things had to be done to get it to her liking. She is a big fan of EDM music so a complete revamp of the car’s audio system was in store before any wrenches were turned. Catronix in Indiana helped install the sub and speakers to get this thing knocking like a cop with a search warrant. There are eight other speakers besides the the sub woofer.
So lets be honest here, when it comes to Central Florida the car show/meet scene has been weak. Typically you will have to travel to Miami or Tampa to catch a really good meet, that was until Simply Clean was created. Simply Clean, it’s a motto and a lifestyle, it is a method of keeping your car minimal when it comes to modifications but always remembering to keep it clean. The Simply Clean crew has always always went with the slogan, “It’s not a competition.” So if its all about clean and not about winning the show, then what is the big deal? The big deal is Simply Clean has grown from a small parking lot meet in Orlando to a true, legitimate show in Daytona Florida. The man at the head of the movement Nickoli Chin along with his masterminds have done a successful job of orchestrating this event since its inception back in 2010 and this year was bigger and better then ever.
Not too long ago did Dave Perez dream of owning an older Volkswagen with the intention on having something that screamed OEM+, but was also fun to drive on a daily basis. He contacted Mike London and then bought this beauty from him so that he had a gorgeous template to work with. He purchased it recently and unfortunately show season for 2013 has already come and gone, leaving him in the building mindset that fall and wintertime brings. Perez told me that the car had been previously built by Bynum Builds along with help by Mr. London.
Let me keep this short and sweet, if you missed any of the Simply Clean 5 weekend well sorry about your luck! The weekend, yes it is turning into a weekend instead of a day was jam packed full of the cleanest cars from Florida, Georgia, New York, and where ever else people decided to make the journey from. Friday night was the official kick off to the festivities and once again CCW opened their doors and factory to host the Simply Clean 5 “Pre-Meet.” Both inside and out was covered with a ton of clean cars, and regardless if they were rocking CCWs or not everyone was welcome to check out the fun! Factory tours and good times were on all night long and if you were hungry, well a stop by the Taco truck outside would curb your appetite. That’s enough of that check out the pictures!

Confession time: I love wagons, especially bagged wagons. There simply isn’t anything a bagged wagon isn’t capable of. Daily commute over rough roads? Check. Weekend trip to Bed, Bath, and Beyond with the significant other? Check. Late night back-road sprint with Dominic Toretto? Check. Hardparked at the stanceiest stance show you can think of? Check. You may have 99 problems, but practicality isn’t one of them when it comes to air suspension on a station wagon. Ben Kell’s 2006 WRX has been overhauled from the ground up since he purchased it in 2011. More show and more go, this Subaru is the total package.
In the past a Nissan 240sx would come to mind as gutted, LS swapped, and pouring smoke off the rear tires as it slides around the horseshoe at Road Atlanta. A track beast, sure, but not a quite like this. Brian’s S13 completely changed my outlook on modified 240s, taking a different and bold route to turn this car into something unexpected.
About a year ago I met David and Yogi at the StanceWars car show in Bellevue, WA. After including their Benz in my StanceWars 2012 video, they came to me asking to feature their car in a video to show friends and sponsors. Later that year we met up in a warehouse a friend of mine owns and began shooting with the available light. For months the content sat unedited until I finally sat down and figured it had been long enough. I’m glad to show off David and Yogi’s sweet ride, and hope to be doing more features in the future!
Today’s wallpaper Wednesday looks back at H2Oi and the infamous static Hoodrich S4 belonging to Devin Larson. H2Oi was a great way for photographers and car owners to meet up that other wise would be a few states apart.
Honda’s these days are a dime a dozen. Yet the differences, and availabilities (or lack thereof) in the States, has left many owners with a few options; if a certain model wasn’t offered in the country, they could either import one, or transform an existing trim level and bring it up to the desired specs. In Teddy’s case, the latter was chosen. With a passion for Honda and their vast array of interchangeable parts, it wasn’t long before Teddy’s Civic began to take shape. With it’s fair share of rare parts and a 1.8L pushing just over 220whp, Teddy explains to us that at this phase in the car’s build, he couldn’t be any happier.

Brenden Ramos always had a thing for cars growing up. He was surrounded with Euros in his early teens due to the fact that his Dad drove an E36 M3 that originally sparked Brenden’s interest in performance. He always wanted something quick and aggressive, yet clean and refined at the same time without having to go overboard with cosmetic additions. One day his Dad brought home an E92 of the same model as its predecessor and Brenden knew that going fast was right up his alley.
