An hour and a half north of Atlanta lies Helen Georgia, a small town of 450 residents well-known for its Bavarian architecture and humble setting. VAG enthusiasts know it for something more though. An event that’s so large the population rises from 450 to nearly 20,000 in just one weekend. An event so large that people from across the world travel to experience it.
It’s said that if you want something bad enough you’ll get it, that the law of attraction will work in mysterious ways ultimately granting you your wish if you can fork up the patience. I believe this to be quite a plausible factor of life, and for this particular 24-year-old Windy City native he finally got what he had been dreaming about for so many years.
Merry Christmas! This week we bring you Sammy Alarcon’s 2008 Honda Civic Si, shot by Mark Anthony.
Southern Worthersee is one of those truly magnificent times we think about all year long. Even after the show’s over and we start the trip back home, we immediately get excited for the next year’s event. Sowo stands alone and unique among all the other shows. Helen, Georgia, a scenic, captivating Bavarian inspired small town graciously hosts the weekend’s event and welcomes Volkswagen, Audi, and many other car enthusiasts from all over the states. I prepared for the trip down south from Virginia Beach with a convoy of friends and set out to film this spectacular show.

We all either know the type or maybe you ARE the type: the person who’s never satisfied. These tormented souls are usually characterized by ongoing projects that last half a decade, always changing things right after they just changed them, tearing down their car again once they get it running, or always discussing how unhappy they are with the car even though it may be on the cover of a current publication. Some consider it obsessive while others consider it a sickness. Searching for satisfaction and perfection is like a quest for the Holy Grail (and we all know how that ended from Indiana Jones) but no amount of sleepless nights in the garage or maxed out credit cards can deter them from their dream.
With just 10 days until The Infamous we are excited to announce that everyone in attendance on August 11th at the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA will have a chance to win a FREE set of Vossen Wheels! 2012 is a tough year to be a Honda/Acura enthusiast. The Civic Si, once the poster-child of the import scene, has become, at best, an also ran. While the car isn’t terrible, this year’s Civic marks the 12th year of the ~200 hp K-series motor as the heart of Honda performance. The announcement of Acura’s new ILX brought nothing to the table either, sharing the same 2.4L powerplant as its Honda twin (and the TSX seen here). While the CR-Z should serve as a shot in the arm, the two seater’s hybrid setup brings unwanted cost and complexity, and falls short of what enthusiasts expected from the long-waited CR-X revival. While there exist some excellent choices in slightly older Hondas and Acuras, the performance and luxury options have changed significantly since import fans first scooped up Integras, Preludes, and Si’s en masse. Those in the market now have the options of used Evo’s, 350Z’s, WRX’s, and RWD Lexus and Infiniti luxury sedans that offer significantly more performance and status than a TSX, RSX, Accord, TL, or Civic could possibly offer.
For this Random Beat desktop wallpaper we have an amazing photo of Patrick Huang’s custom bagged G35 coupe. We featured his ride back in February, but this shot just screams wallpaper status so we had to share it with everyone. The view from the back Pat’s G is plain sexy! Pat, great job working those new strobes you recently picked up. Car looks amazing as always!

Everyone would agree that it’s always better late than never right? Yes, that’s right, we did attend Wekfest Los Angeles in Long Beach, however, due to time constraints and scheduling, all the photographers that attended were not able to get their coverage out until now. This will be part one of what’s to come in the near future. Anyway, just like Wekfest San Francisco this year, the turn out was huge and the quality of cars was amazing. So enough with the text, we’ll let the photos do the talking.

The G35 is well known for it’s sweet sounding all motor V6 and luxurious looks. The owner of this Infiniti G35 did an outstanding job proving that he could step it up a notch with mildly modifying this gorgeous white G.
