The end of April is an exciting time for automotive enthusiasts in the Southeast. Builds from winter start to emerge and shows begin to pop up almost every weekend. For some, this last weekend in April may be their first car show ever, while others have been in the game longer than they've had a license to drive. Experience has taught us which car shows to not miss because of the quality and which ones to go to just to have a good time. Import Alliance Atlanta and Southrn Fresh's Welcome to Atlanta pre-meet are perfect examples of when those two factors come together. Read More

The Mk6. When Volkswagen unveiled it, I must admit, I was stoked. The front was aggressive and angry; the side, sleek and smooth. The back was just as evil looking as the front. There is no question why the new Mk7 design is so similar to the Mk6 chassis. Read More
It's automobiles like this, and people like Eric Heffernan that get others interested into the car scene. Passion is contagious, and flawless is a virtue we'd all love to have in our cars. With a creative mindset and drive to put in time and effort to build something, it is incredible to see what can be accomplished. From Kalamazoo, Michigan we bring you Eric Heffernan's 1976 BMW 2002. Michigan knows the true meaning of rough. The state has been through some serious shit the last decade and the people who live there know better than anyone; if there's an obstacle, there is a way to overcome it. Derek Box is one of those people. If someone tells him it can't be done, he does it, and makes it look easy. Read More
It's been a while since I've put up some actual coverage or even an actual post on Canibeat so I must first apologize for my lack of activity. I've recently had a chance to work with many companies I used to only dream of working with, so bare with me and when I am allowed to release them, you will be able to see them on Canibeat. Anyway, though I have a much more busy schedule nowadays, I decided to take a break from it all and head over to the Eibach Springs Honda Meet today. Read More
There is just as much a time and place for gaudy, showy, and ridiculous as there is for subtle, clean, and tasteful. Some people choose to go with flashy, large modifications while others go for the simple and sometimes unnoticeable ones. Within the few years, the word “clean” has really been emphasized across both the JDM and Euro car scenes, inspiring people to modify their cars so it looks like it came from the factory that way. Many people will use OEM parts from another model of the same make in order to modify their car subtly and keep it “clean”. This look is known as “OEM+” (or OEM plus), implying that the mods are slightly more than factory but the vehicle overall still looks OEM. Before you lies a great example of an OEM+ look with a few more modifications. John Williamson’s remarkably deceptive Mk6 GTI may appear to only have suspension and wheels in its repertoire but has a spec list bordering on the absurd. Read More

Random Beat: All Black Everythang
The guys and I were BBQ'n by the pool over the weekend and we decided to go out and take some updated shots of Bill's Accord. I took some sunset shots and then I decided to take a stab at light painting for the first time. It's not perfect but a black on black car is usually a photographers nightmare to light so I was happy with my first attempt. What do you guys think? If you haven't seen Bill's Accord before keep an eye out for it at Import Alliance in Nashville, TN next weekend!
