Random Beat: Morning Fog

Subaru photography

Some thick fog rolled through my area and after not being able to access a few locations I wanted to shoot at, I settled for this cemetery location nearby my house. The silence of a winter morning, thick fog, and atmosphere of the location made it pretty creepy.

Simply Clean 4 Pre-Meet Hosted by CCW (Daytona, FL)

Simply Clean 4 pre meet coverage

This past weekend I had the pleasure of flying down from Washington, DC to the sunshine state for Simply Clean 4 in Daytona. 2012 marked the fourth year the guys from Simply Clean have been putting on their event and the first year it has been held at Destination Daytona. Prior to this weekend I had never been to anything car related in Florida and I will say that it exceeded my expectations heavily. Dan and the guys over at Complete Custom Wheels (CCW) hosted this years pre-meet at their facility in Daytona and I made it a priority to be there while I was in town. Read More

As It Should Be: Mike Merkt’s Functionally Beautiful WRX

Mike_Merkt_WRX_Cover

Wherever there are enthusiasts, there are bound to be discussions. From weekly car meets to Facebook groups to big shows, differing opinions are going to be presented and sometimes they may clash. Some debates are serious while others are a bit more light-hearted but either way, they happen and that’s what makes our scene so great: diversity. One of the hottest topics of the last couple years has been the infamous “function vs form” debate, which always sparks some very interesting points of view. The function crowd argues that form cars can’t be driven like they should while the form guys point out the fact that function cars spend more time in the shop than on the street and when they do run, they should lower it and get some 3 piece wheels. A Lady’s Touch: Erin Allard’s Bagged WRX

bagged WRX

Aftermarket automotive culture has never really been a place that catered to the fairer sex. From late nights spent in a dusty garage working with dirty tools while beer-swigging bros tell even dirtier jokes, to the meets and shows that cater to base masculine desires with scantily-clad models and greasy food. Tuner Evolution 2012 (York, PA): Official Video

This past weekend on our way up to north we attended Tuner Evolution 2012. The show is held every year in York, PA at a unique venue; a baseball stadium! The environment at this one is so laid back, and the quality is top notch too. This was also our first show we had a booth at! We were selling promotional stickers, had a TV displaying our films, and basically getting exposure! Thanks to everyone that stopped by and thanks to Jay for making it possible. Epic Weekend of the East was made possible by Tuner Evolution and Weksos having events in the same weekend, with great support from Fresh Meet, Canibeat, JDM Chicago, Tjin Edition Road Show, Autolife Tour. Jay and everyone at Tuner Evolution would like to dedicate all of their hard work for 2012 to Justin Wales of York, PA who passed away the same day of the show. RIP.

Daily Driven & Show Room Clean: Stephen Burke’s Subaru STi

Subaru STi

Daily driven 300 plus miles a week and still kept fresh? Stephen Burke is doing something right. His 2005 Subaru STI was too good to pass up during our weekend out at Welcome to Atlanta and Import Alliance. The aggressive fitment paired with the flawless body shocked me when I learned this was no garage queen. Read More

iAcrophobia 421 Meet (Beijing, China)

iacrophobia-421-car-meet (5)

In recent years, the aggressive fitment/stance scene has infected car enthusiasts all over the word in an overwhelming fashion. We have seen this trend explode in North America, Europe, and Japan, while other regions are catching up rapidly: Austrailia, Thailand, even Korea. However, today we are introducing something completely new to us, the Chinese scene.  Read More
